We are currently seeking a strong and passionate business support officer to support our business services. The business development officer will work closely with the chief operating officer in the design and development of business plans, identifying new business opportunities and partnering with other external stakeholders to develop and maintain relationships with clients.

Duties of the role:

  • Identifying new sales leads and pitching our services to existing and new clients
  • Maintaining fruitful relationships with new and existing customers
  • Researching organisations to identify new leads and potential new markets
  • Researching the needs of other companies and learning who makes decisions about purchasing
  • Contacting potential clients via email or phone to establish rapport and set up meetings
  • Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives
  • Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events
  • Preparing PowerPoint presentations and sales displays
  • Contacting clients to inform them about new developments in the company’s services
  • Developing quotes and proposals
  • Negotiating and renegotiating by phone, email, and in person
  • Training personnel and helping team members develop their skills

Business Development Skills
To be an effective business development officer, an individual must be:

  • Socially adept
  • Good with numbers
  • Equipped with an existing network of contacts

  • Construction of Marketing Calendar.
  • Design and production of Email Bulletins and newsletters
  • Administration of Web sites and web presence

Educational qualifications
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales or related courses is preferable. Additional related professional courses will be an added advantage.
